The national obsession with fitness has created a multi-billion dollar exercise equipment
industry.  Many people would rather purchase their own home gym equipment than a
gym membership, and they are willing to invest thousands of dollars to do so.  There
are certainly advantages to having your own training machines ready and waiting in
your own home.  There are also disadvantages that may not be obvious until the
equipment has been purchased.

Bowflex is one of the industry leaders in the home fitness field.  The Nautilus company
has been selling strength training equipment since 1986 when they marketed their first
resistance-based Bowflex machine.  They have improved on their original model, but
the basic premise remains the same.  Bowflex machines work the muscles by providing
resistance through a series of polymer rods.

Bowflex Xtreme is one of the newer home gyms offered by Nautilus.  This particular
Bowflex model has 65 different exercises.  There are four position adjustable pullies
built into the system.  It offers as little as 5 pounds or up to 210 pounds of weight
resistance.  Customers can purchase additional Power Rods to gain as much as 410
pounds of resistance.

The Bowflex Xtreme gives trainers a gym-style vertical workout position, and it has an
X-shaped base for maximum stability.  It offers several different exercises that work
chest, shoulder, arm, abdominal, back and leg muscle groups.  And its compact design
makes for a perfect fit in smaller workout spaces.

As compact as it is, though, potential customers should take into consideration that
Bowflex machines do not fold for storage.  The Bowflex Xtreme needs about a 7' x 6'
space to stand permanently.  Price is another factor to consider.  This Bowflex model is
$1,299.00 plus shipping.  It's a price worth paying if the buyer is dedicated to working
out at home regularly.  The high price tag isn't worth it, though, if there's a chance it
might sit idle after the novelty wears off.

One more issue to think about is the effectiveness of the Bowflex Xtreme workouts.
Many users report positive results with regular Bowflex workouts.  Others, however, say
that the resistance rods aren't as effective as weights.  All Bowflex users agree that
working out with the Power Rods feels completely different from working out with weight
machines.  Some people like this change, and others never get used to it.

The Nautilus company is so sure that their customers will love the Bowflex Xtreme, they
offer a "6 Week Fitness Results Guarantee."  Unsatisfied customers can return the
product for a full refund, minus the shipping fees, if they call customer service within six
weeks of purchase.  There is also an unlimited warranty on the Power Rods and a
seven year limited warranty on the rest of the machine, which only covers defects in
materials or workmanship.

A New Year and many new resolutions, one of which is the most common one of losing and maintaining weight. Nowadays people are so busy with work that there isn't time for the gym. But people are conscientious about their health and many people are purchasing workout machines for their homes. Home gyms have become increasingly popular. One machine that is apt for a home gym is the Bowflex Extreme. Why is the Bowflex Extreme so apt? Well let's review it and enumerate some reasons why.

With its unique design, the Bowflex is a name that is well known in the fitness industry. Unlike many weight stack machines, Bowflex utilizes composite rods. These rods are of varying degree of thickness and provide good resistance when they are pulled in different directions. The rods are not too heavy and are easy to change. Moreover the great thing of these rods is that it provides smooth movements since the power rods don't have momentum.

Offering around 70 different exercises, Bowflex Extreme has nearly 210 pounds of resistance, this can be upgraded with add-ons to almost 400 odd pounds. You can perform a number of different upper and lower body exercises. This machine has a comfortable vertical bench where you can sit and do all your exercises in an upright position. In addition this bench utilizes less space in comparison to a horizontal bench.

You can now exercise your different muscle groups with this machine. By regularly using it, you can have the physique/figure that you want. The machine come's with an owner's manual. This manual is extremely useful especially for beginners. You can use it as your guide and use the machine as per instructions. In addition there's also a nutrition/fitness guide that accompanies the owner's manual. Interesting and useful diet and nutrition tips help you stay on a healthy path, to complement your workout regimen.

The Bowflex Extreme is strong, stable and durable. So if it's a abdominal crunch or leg curl that your looking to do, this machine is for you. However this machine does not have give you the option of leg press. And if the temperature in the room is too cold, the power rods tends to get a little stiff.

At a steep $1200, this machine is quite expensive, but if quality is what your looking for then, the Bowflex Extreme is for you. After all there are no compromises where safety is concerned.

If you want a quality, compact product, safe to use in the comfort of your home, the Bowflex Extreme comes highly recommended and has a limited warranty of seven years.

Benefits of using a machine that combines both the treadmill and stairclimber benefits include the following:

  • Lose more weight.  The cardiovascular workout of the treadmill as well as the muscle mass building properties of the stairclimber cause an increase in weight loss more than either machine alone.
  • The unique design of the Bowflex Treadclimber reduces harsh impacts to the joints, so that negative side effects of working out can be minimized.
  • Increased energy levels.  By staying in premium shape using low impact workouts with cardio training, we can actually increase the energy we feel.  Sleep is much more efficient and effective, which means we either use less or wake up feeling more refreshed than we did when we did not workout.
  • Look better!  Not only can you feel better, you can also look better.  With weight loss and increased calorie burning, you can trim away the fat and become a slimmer, more attractive you!
